Re: Another request to LDlite programmers...

(...) This is very odd. Using the web-interface, when I click the link on the previous message, I get Yahoo!'s "can't find this page" message. But if I view source, copy the URL and paste it into the browser, it comes right up (well, it downloads (...) (25 years ago, 8-Mar-00, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.admin.general)

(...) Wow, that's Bizarre. There's nothing wrong with the HTML being emitted by the web interface, so the only thing I can think of is that Yahoo! is looking at the HTTP_REFERER and denying direct links to .bin files...? --Todd (25 years ago, 8-Mar-00, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Another request to LDlite programmers...

(...) Wow, that's doubly bizarre... I wonder if it Yahoo!'s server is looking at something else, then, such as the OS type, the browser type, or various MIME declarations from the browser, etc... I'm using NN 4.x for Linux/i686... --Todd [XFUT (...) (25 years ago, 8-Mar-00, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.publish)

(...) Heehee -- all he needs is a 486 for Linux. :) Linux on a 25 MHz. 80486 will blow the socks off a 700 MHz. Pentium III running Win95. :) (j/k) --Todd (25 years ago, 8-Mar-00, to lugnet.publish, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: Another request to LDlite programmers...

(...) heheh. that's almost the exact situation we have here. 486/25 running RH6.0 (6.1 won't install, didn't have time to get it to yet), compared to PIII/500 running win95... I can't say the linux is faster, at least not in X :P At work, however, (...) (25 years ago, 8-Mar-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: Another request to LDlite programmers...

(...) I think that they have in fact removed a few things from the 6.1 installl disk (it's a pretty tight squeeze), but it shouldn't have been anything remotely mainstream. In my (humble, of course) opinion, the 6.1/6.2 installer is terribly broken. (...) (25 years ago, 8-Mar-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: Another request to LDlite programmers...

(...) yah, that fits my experience with their install - you say that the 6.2 isn't any better? I havn't tried it yet... (...) nod - I ran into that trying to upgrade 6.0 to 6.1 in place, and failing misrably... ended up going a full install. (yay (...) (25 years ago, 8-Mar-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)
