| (...) GIF is probably better to compress an image with few colours and strong contrasts. JPEG does a Fourier transform of each 8x8 pixel box (as I have understood), and is generally only well suited for images which are fairly smooth. I my opinion, (...) (25 years ago, 23-Aug-99, to lugnet.cad)
