  Re: I quit.

(...) I'm so sorry to learn of your difficult situation and of your decision to leave the hobby, though it sounds entirely reasonable to me. You've put in a ton of work over the years, and even if you never took another look at anything (...) (13 years ago, 8-Mar-12, to lugnet.cad)

  I quit.

It is with great sadness I have decided to quit LDraw. LDraw has been my primary hobby for about 15 years and an endless source of joy and relaxation, combined with intellectual challenges. But in the last few years, it feels like LDraw has changed (...) (13 years ago, 8-Mar-12, to lugnet.people, lugnet.cad)

Re: LDView and snapshots (Windows 7 64bit)

(...) Maybe we could get a 64 bit build available on ldraw.org for download? (13 years ago, 5-Mar-12, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LPub not generating torus in output images

(...) I've stuck with this particular version because the newer editions have been giving me unpredictable results with BFC errors that I can't seem to track down. I won't bother you with all of the details, but I use a lot of custom LDraw parts, (...) (13 years ago, 5-Mar-12, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LPub is slow on Windows 7

(...) Windows 7 performance issues have come up a few times already, here and possibly at the forums on ldraw.org. (URL) might point to a fix, or to someone who has one. (13 years ago, 5-Mar-12, to lugnet.cad)

LPub is slow on Windows 7

Ever since I was issued a new laptop from work and installed lpub on it, it takes ages to do any kind of render operation. I am guessing there's some security setting in Windows that has to time out every time it invokes the external program to do (...) (13 years ago, 5-Mar-12, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LPub not generating torus in output images

(...) Hi Dave, That is a really old version of LPub. I can imagine that you are using it for a reason, like you want to render with POV, but if that is not the case, I suggest you update LPub to version 4.0.0.11. It renders using LDView or LDGLite (...) (13 years ago, 5-Mar-12, to lugnet.cad)

LPub not generating torus in output images

I'm using LPub v 2.4.8.0, and I've noticed that it completely omits POV-Ray torus objects in the output images. Any idea why this might be happening? (13 years ago, 4-Mar-12, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: 3D printers

(...) I built a Prusa 3D printer. I've had it for about 6 months. (one of the reasons I've been quiet on Lugnet) I have tried to print Lego, and while my success with it was limited, I lay that solely at the feat of not getting the printer fully (...) (13 years ago, 28-Feb-12, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: 3D printers

(...) Agreed. I've seen people print 2x2 bricks, but just for fun. One thing I've considered is to use a reprap to print foundations for hills in a layout, so I only need to use bricks and plates for the visible top layer of the hills. For that (...) (13 years ago, 28-Feb-12, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: 3D printers

(...) I don't think there's any 3D printing technology available that hits the tolerances needed for functional Lego compatible pieces (I think Lego pieces are manufactured to ±.0006") The resolution on filament fed printers (fused deposition (...) (13 years ago, 27-Feb-12, to lugnet.cad)
