Sticker Generator for LDRAW / MLCAD

I would like to share my sticker generating tool, that I created to convert bitmap images into flat part files (stickers / decals) for use in ldraw based CAD programs and rendering programs. Here is an example of what it can do: (URL) Here is a (...) (17 years ago, 23-Jul-07, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.announce) !

  Orange color with LeoCAD

Bothered by the weird rendering of orange color in LeoCAD, I have compiled an unofficial version that imports, displays and export correctly this color. Get it here: (URL) (17 years ago, 22-Jul-07, to lugnet.cad.leocad, lugnet.robotics.nxt)

Re: BrickFest 2001 Photos of Jessimans?

(...) Well, there's a photo here: (URL) course, since you wrote that article, you probably already know about that one. Note that there's another version of the same article in the "new" part of the site, but it's not formatted nearly as nicely.) (...)   BrickFest 2001 Photos of Jessimans?

I'm trying to track down a few photos taken in 2001 of Don and Robyn Jessiman and some LDraw-folk while they were in DC for the fest. I've checked the obvious BrickShelf folders -- Bram, Lar, Steve Bliss, etc. -- to no avail. Does anyone either have (...)   Re: Copy of MacMegaPov 0.7

I realized that in my previous message, I never actually mentioned that I built the executable that I link to. I built it from the MegaPOV 0.7 source using (mostly) the Unix settings from the regular POV source. I set it to output PNG files by (...) (17 years ago, 21-Jul-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

  Re: Copy of MacMegaPov 0.7

(...) You can find a command-line Intel Mac compile of MegaPOV 0.7 here: (URL) I tested it with the following command line: megapov +IBRICKS.pov I used BRICKS.pov from the above zip, and it generated the following two PNG files in under 2 seconds: (...)   Re: Copy of MacMegaPov 0.7

(...) Establishing a consistent way to create quality instructions from LDraw models on the Mac is of great interest to me, personally and on behalf of the general Mac LDraw community. If a detailed tutorial is not practical, I would still be (...) (17 years ago, 20-Jul-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

  Re: Copy of MacMegaPov 0.7

(...) I have a copy sitting here: (URL) I got it by e-mailing the maintainers of MacMegaPOV several years ago. In later correspondence, they also told me the edge-tracer in the newer version of MacMegaPOV had not been optimized by its author. The (...) (17 years ago, 20-Jul-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

Re: Brickshelf Backup Crawler for Mac

(...) Of course, I just tried bsbackup.sh again - the current version that gets all files - and it took 32:05. There's a little quicktime movie in there that probably accounts for most of the difference as the MPD files are quite small. So the (...)   Re: Brickshelf Backup Crawler for Mac

(...) Boy, that is a lot more compact than mine! (...) It looks like it's only considering links to /cgi-bin/gallery.cgi. However, links to non-image files from the Brickshelf folder pages point directly to /gallery/username/foo/bar.dat. (Ah, I see (...)   Re: Brickshelf Backup Crawler for Mac

(...) OK, if you download and run the script now, it should back up all files (not just images). --Travis (17 years ago, 18-Jul-07, to lugnet.general, lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

Re: Brickshelf Backup Crawler for Mac

(...) I didn't have any problem compiling and installing wget (although I did have to change the default install path by hand from /usr/local to /opt/local so that it would be in my pre-existing path). However, I suspect that most Mac users would be (...) (17 years ago, 18-Jul-07, to lugnet.general, lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

Re: Brickshelf Backup Crawler for Mac

(...) There are many instructions how to install wget and even some installers. curl can't beat 'wget -m' afaik. (...) No official repository afaik.   Supportive Community

Dear fellow LEGO fans and LDraw users, I was deeply impressed reading how many would have supported BrickShelf with fees to keep the site alive. Some expressed they weren't aware that they could become paying members to get rid off the ads, others (...) (17 years ago, 18-Jul-07, to lugnet.general, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw) !!

Re: Brickshelf Backup Crawler for Mac

(...) Well, I had the advantage of writing it from scratch specifically for this purpose. It's funny because I had been thinking about writing a Brickshelf upload utility (like (URL) Flickr Uploadr>) but circumstances resulted in a download utility (...)   Re: Brickshelf Backup Crawler for Mac

Thanks for that Jim. I got the script working for user backup, and Peter Bartfai (the author of the original script) also got one working for user backup (before seeing my email that I'd gotten it working). However, while I haven't looked at Peter's (...) (17 years ago, 17-Jul-07, to lugnet.general, lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

  Re: Colors, LDconfig, etc...

Hi Steve, (...) My bad - I didn't have the updated file here... All stone colors are defined. So I guess I should update NXT parts to color 151 (Light_Stone code). Problem is that color 151 is not natively recognized by MLCad (neither 71 MedStone or (...) (17 years ago, 17-Jul-07, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Colors, LDconfig, etc...

(...) Pretty much the thread John pointed out contains the answer. The unofficial files are coded to use color 383, because that color works with all LDraw programs (some better than others). So you have to update the unofficial parts to use the (...) (17 years ago, 17-Jul-07, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Colors, LDconfig, etc...

(...) Thanks John, it is a good way to go round this issue. But I'd still like to get LDraw people ideas on this ;o) Philo (17 years ago, 17-Jul-07, to lugnet.cad)
