| (...) I notice you're using white as the color for light.dat. Since L3P pays attention to the color of the light, you can use a much darker shade of gray. They should probably be less bright, you can multiply the whole RGB triple by a constant less than 1: ... 0.4 * <r, g, b> It would also help changing the 'fade_distance' and 'fade_power' to make them not shine so far.
