Here goes, Voting is up an running for the May MOTM. (URL) models have been rendered in Bryce. Bryce looks a little different from POV-Ray - sort of another philosophy on the idea of "photo-realistic". (...) Yes, but you cannot put (1-y/L) into a transformation matrix. It is a *function* that changes for each 3D point. The purpose of a tranformation matrix is to precalculate a matrix of *numbers* that gets multiplied by all the points of the (...) (24 years ago, 25-Apr-01, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.ray)

(...) Speaking of pattern numbers, I have created the gold-faced android head and developed a fix to the silver one (3626Bp63.dat), so that both parts are compatible. My problem is that numbers on both sides of the head are claimed by other groups. (...) (24 years ago, 25-Apr-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

that shouldn't be too hard either. just operate the matrix on the points alone. if your cilinder has it's axle around the Y axle. L is the length of the cilinder and if it starts at 0 0 0 you could use (1-y/L) 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 (1-y/L) this would turn (...) (24 years ago, 25-Apr-01, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.ray)

I would like to know is there any good resolution betwen 320x200 and 160x120? because It takes too long to render in 320x200 and 160x120 is too small (24 years ago, 25-Apr-01, to lugnet.cad.ray)

(...) Yes, but it's not what Sproat needs. He needs to scale X and Z as a function of Y. Something like: x' = xy Which is something transform matrices cannot do. Steve (24 years ago, 25-Apr-01, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.ray)

(...) Using a sub-model with MLCAD, you can set the rotation center for the sub-model and achieve this. I use this technique on legs. Visio has a function similar to this. Parts can be defined with connection points. These connection points snap (...) (24 years ago, 25-Apr-01, to lugnet.cad)
