  Re: Bendible Objects?

(...) I don't know Rhino, but what I can say stl2dat can handle ascii and binary stl format. If Rhino can only produce stl data in the positive quadrant, stl2dat can change the origin in the dat file with the -o x y z option. The most tricky point (...)   Re: Bendible Objects?

(...) It's generally quite difficult to model the flexible elements. I've made major mode for Emacs (an editor) which adds functions to model some bent elements. Take a look at some tutorials here: (URL) included some instructions as to how to (...) (24 years ago, 26-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Need part number for a dangerous predator

(...) I think it is quite correct of you to add the edge lines where there is sharp corners in the actual part. The ones you did look correctly done to me. If you feel brave, you could also try to add conditional edge lines along the cat, but I (...) (24 years ago, 26-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Some new part numbers from 6600

Here are some part numbers I have not seen mentioned before, so I'm listing them here in the hope that they get modled. These are parts found in 6600 Highway Construction. The associated names are ones I made up (becuase I needed them for BrickBay). (...) (24 years ago, 26-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Need part number for a dangerous predator

(...) Thanks! The edge lines I put in for Ldraw's and MLcad's sake; they make it easier to see the important features of the cat's face, plus the edge along the bottom I think is important to preserve. In POV-Ray of course they vanish, though. I (...) (24 years ago, 25-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Need part number for a dangerous predator

(...) I think it's a pretty amazing first part! Nice work. I'm not sure about use of the edge lines on things like the eyes, etc. These get lost when you POV. If there really are marks or grooves in the part there, you may want to try to model them. (...) (24 years ago, 25-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Need part number for a dangerous predator

(...) Sounds like this is not the part number. Many parts have numbers of the form "n nn" or "n-nn" which probably refer to indivudual sites within the injection mould. Only the larger ones have room to include the TLC part number, typically in the (...) (24 years ago, 25-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)
