Whoops (was: New Part: 3010p20s.dat: Brick 1 x 4 with Town Car Black Grill and Side Stripes)

Whoops- I just discovered that Tore Eriksson already redid this piece (without side stripes). He actually went to the trouble of using disc and ring primitives to do the corners. His vertical positioning of the printing is also slightly different, (...) (24 years ago, 2-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Question on (unneeded?) lines in printed parts

(...) Type 2 lines should not be used to outline the decorated areas on printed parts, so their use in 3010p06 is incorrect. To improve the look of the part when rendered by some of the older LCAD software, it is acceptable to define type 2 lines (...) (24 years ago, 2-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  LCAD/LDraw.org Formal Organization

There's been occasional discussion about formalizing the LEGO-style CAD fan organization. Although an informal organization usually serves us pretty well, there are some things an informal group can not do, such as deal well with keeping a treasury, (...)   Re: LDraw MOTM winner for February 2001

(...) Amnon, First of all congatulations! I have a couple of questions about your model: 1. Are the 9V motors in it functional or did you use them solely for easthetic purpose? 2. I really like the hot-rod cars and would like to build one. Any (...) (24 years ago, 2-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: LDraw MOTM winner for February 2001

Thank you very much everyone! When I saw the models this month, I was worried I wouldn't have much of a chance, but I am glad to have been chosen. There were a few models especially that I told my wife I would not feel bad to lose out to, since they (...) (24 years ago, 2-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: Question on (unneeded?) lines in printed parts

(...) It's a backward compatibility issue: a. These lines help to identify the various printed pieces in Ledit, which does show the parts as wireframes only. b. In a Ldraw render, it prevents the background color bits "eating up" the pattern color (...) (24 years ago, 1-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

LDraw MOTM winner for February 2001

Wow, This was a *close* one. Tim, biting his nails over the outcome, has been needling me to count the votes and resolve which one is the winner.   Re: New Part: 3010p20s.dat: Brick 1 x 4 with Town Car Black Grill and Side Stripes

I checked through early Town stuff on the set guide and came up with these two possibilities: <set:558>, <set:670>. These look like European and American versions of the same set. If so, I probably have the European one (though either is possible). (...) (24 years ago, 1-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Where to download LGEO?

Hi - I was just asked by someone where they could get LGEO, after pointing them to the L2P download page on LDraw.org, I discovered the links are broken. They link to Lutz's old site, but his new one - www.el-lutzo.de - is down. Is there anywhere (...) (24 years ago, 1-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

New Part: 3010p20s.dat: Brick 1 x 4 with Town Car Black Grill and Side Stripes  [DAT]

I found this piece in my vintage Lego box. It's an ancient 1x4 with printed headlights/grill. But it also has striping stickers on the sides. Note also that I didn't base it off of the existing headlight piece- I didn't like the way that decoration (...) (24 years ago, 1-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Question on (unneeded?) lines in printed parts

I have noticed recently that some printed parts have edges around all the printed bits. For example, look at 3010p06.dat. This is a 1x4 with stripes on one side. But between each red stripe and its neighboring bgcolor stripe, there is a light-red (...) (24 years ago, 1-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)
