I checked through early Town stuff on the set guide and came up with these
two possibilities: <set:558>, <set:670>. These look like European and
American versions of the same set. If so, I probably have the European one
(though either is possible). In any case, the set looks familiar as well.
The instructions vanished many, many years ago, so I can't be sure if this
is the right set.
One oddity is that I clearly have 3 black stripes on each sticker while the
instructions from Brickshelf and the shots on the Lugnet set guide are each
different in their own way. The size and count of the stripes on the
stickers varies between the catalog shots, the instruction cover shots, and
the instruction step drawings. Whatever- as long as my piece matches the
real thing, I'm happy.
And thanks! I'd also like to redo the 1x6 with headlights, the "Legoland"
pattern, and the Lego logo. But at least the current parts are useable- I
have more pressing things to work on in the area of vintage pieces.
