  Re: Problem, folks

(...) What do you mean by "LDraw won't load the file"? Does LDraw crash? Does it only render the model partially? In the latter case, the problem may be the use of MPD or other extensions which are not supported by LDraw. Or the problem may be line (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Problem, folks

(...) If it gives a runtime error xxx then the problem is mist likely that there are lines in there that arent strictly valid in dat files (like the news headers and etc) but which ldlite (and mlcad I guess) ignore but which ldraw picks up on. (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad)

  Problem, folks

When I try copying and pasting Web-DAT files from these pages to a text file, LDraw won't load the file. I have the correct extensions and everything. MLCad loads the file fine, but LDraw won't? Any solutions? Thanks! Mike (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad)

Re: idea for a new page: faces of ldraw/lego

(...) minifig (...) You could paste the images of faces onto minifig heads as bitmaps, and then render the image. Or, have little minifigs with users' faces running around Datville (kinda like The Sims). : ) Just another idea. Mike (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.general)

  file name protocol

I've finished a couple of models. Looking back I realize that I used names for sub models that may not mean much to anyone else. Is there a protocal for filenames, sub models, etc.? Or should I just post the models and not worry about? Thanks -- (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.models.sets)

  Re: Ray tracing programs

(...) I know that L3lab gives warning about the feature being untested, when you export to povray from it, but I've used it a lot of times, with expected results everytime, and it is far easier to use than l3p if you're not that familiar with shell (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Ray tracing programs

(...) No, LeoCAD doesn't need any external programs to save POV files but if you have LGEO installed, it can use it to create higher quality renderings (L2P.exe is never used, everything is done internally). I'd recommend you to have LGEO, as each (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad)

Re: A CD-ROM Update of sorts...

(...) I have the linux stuff ready, don't forget to email me when you need it. I don't want to send it now because someone might update a program and I'd like to have the latest version available. Leonardo (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

"Fredrik Glöckner" <fredrik.glockner@bio.uio.no> wrote in message news:qrdr981mcp5.fsf....uio.no... (...) Yeah...what Fredrik said :) One of the things that I should put on my to-do-before-leaving-for-Boston list is at least getting started on a new (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Ray tracing programs

(...) You can choose wether you want to use L2P and the LGEO library (download from eg. www.ldraw.org) _or_ L3P (LGEO and L3P can be combined, but I wouldn't suggest this to a newbie.). L2P and L3P are not related, but the names are a bit confusing, (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad)
