  Re: Ideas for I-DEAS?

(...) I still have my manuals at home, I can check out the file types tonight. I wish I still had access to that package. I-DEAS blows away AutoCAD in much the same way that AutoCAD blows away MS Paint. It's just too bad the the price tag increases (...) (25 years ago, 25-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Ideas for I-DEAS?

(...) When I bought a used SGI Indy a while back it came with a ton of manuals and cdroms for that package. I threw most of the manuals out, and probably the cdroms too. It looked interesting but far too complex for anything I'd want to do with it. (...) (25 years ago, 25-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Castle Ninja Katana

(...) Thanks! :-) (...) Well, by my reckoning, that was the last one left (let's see, someone else already did the classic Sword, I sent in the Greatsword, and I just posted the Cutlass and the Katana), so I guess I did.   Re: Pirate Cutlass

(...) Thanks! :-) (...) Urk! That's an error. I've deleted it (in my backup copy). I'll re-post the revised copy later (I want to wait and see if there are any other suggestions on improvements). Thanks, Franklin (25 years ago, 25-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Ideas for I-DEAS?

(...) It's been a couple of years since I touched the system. Does I-DEAS have the ability to export an .STL file? There is an .STL to .DAT translator out there somewhere, I just haven't had a chance to check it out yet. -Duane (25 years ago, 25-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: LDraw DAT format standard questions

(...) The only document I'm aware of is the LDraw FAQ. There must have been something else, somewhere, because I'm sure I didn't figure it out on my own. But it might have been e-mail communication with James, or on the original L-CAD mailing list. (...) (25 years ago, 25-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Some ideas about grid mode and rotation

  Ideas for I-DEAS?

Hi guys, Is there anyone who is familiar with I-DEAS package? I-DEAS is a very nice professional CAD software with very powerful surfacing features. I've just started using it and love it. If there would be any way to convert (one of) its output (...) (25 years ago, 14-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)
