I have always thought that this sculpture really captures a very significant
personal experience in a very simple, clear and visually pleasing way, and I
have also always thought that it was under-appreciated, and that it should
have won awards at Brickfest last year. It isn’t about technique, it’s about
personal expression, and that’s something rarely seen in a MOC. Thanks for
posting about it. If you are going to be selling it, can I place an order?

Thanks for the kind words, Cyndi. Emerge has actually had a very good
response- I think its just that Brickfest, Brickshelf, and our other forms of
sharing having a different center of attention.
There have been a few occasions where people have seen it and- even in the
presence of a really massive monumetal works of other people- made an
unsolicited comment of appreciation. That has given me a really good feeling
not because I’m looking for a pat on the back, but because I’m exposing a very
personal aspect of myself. So to hear others just say “I get it” is enough.
You’ve been very encouraging to me not only in building, but also as an
experienced scientist. Consider the third version yours as my thanks.
