(...) I built it in five sections, each a little under 2 feet tall. These were merged together the first morning to form the full tower. (...) I will confess that the interior is empty. The technological breakthrough was the ability to produce the color voxel representation of the multi-colored object. (...) Thanks! The 'pins' (axle-2) are used only to 'glue' the front face 'sheet' to the wing base 'sheet'. There is enough tension/compression that it is extremely unlikely to come apart without intent. The axles (captured 3-1/2 w/stud) on the (...) (18 years ago, 13-Oct-06, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

Here are a few pics of my Northwest Artifact (Totem Pole). It is 6 feet tall, has a 7-1/2 foot wingspan and uses about 20,000 bricks and plates. The technology I developed to enable such massive (and thin) wings is called Plywood and Staples. The (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX) !!

Impressive! I have never even attempted a sculpture (I feel like an dinosaur on Lugnet now ; ) but this still looks very tricky... At (URL) NWBrickCon2006> I showed my first ever multi-colored sculpture. It was a part of the moonbase display. It was an 8 foot tall cone with a bulging red stripe spiraling up the side. But the red stripe is structural. It’s not just tacked on the (...) Very nice work! This is my faviourite sculpture in ages! The whole thing is so realistic and beautiful it was a pleasure to look at. Now I am picturing a cave inside similar to Peter Pan...
