It was voted "NWBC06 Best in Show".

     WOW!  It deserved the win!
I thought you were being sarcastic about the plywood and staples until I
looked through your Brickshelf folder - neat idea!  I'm afraid I'm a little slow
today, though...does it pin the wing assembly to the body assembly, or does it
work to keep the 2-1/2 to 3 ft of each wing stable as it cantilevers out into
the air?  Or both?  Or am I missing it?
Either way, I greatly enjoyed the pics - very nice sculpture!
Congratulations!

Thanks!

The 'pins' (axle-2) are used only to 'glue' the front face 'sheet' to the wing
base 'sheet'. There is enough tension/compression that it is extremely unlikely
to come apart without intent. The axles (captured 3-1/2 w/stud) on the staples
are only used to hold the staples against the wings. The staples' geometry
handle the cantilever support. Once they are in place the whole has a broad
enough footprint base to stand on its own. I used the overlap of the chest plate
to assure it's stability. The chest assembly also holds the back piece in place
interlocking everything nicely.

I uploaded a couple of pics that demonstrate the plywood concept as I used it
here.

After moderation, they'll be in the same folder
