To get correct stud spacing you need to leave some room between baseplates
anyway. If you don't have any bricks/plates spanning more than 1 baseplate, it
isn't a problem, but I'd probably do it anyway, just for my aesthetic
gratification :)

| Ralph, I made a mosaic about that size this year. Here are my suggestions. First, I attached the baseplates to a wood backing (8'x6') using extra strengh liquid nails.
