(URL) My latest MOC is a SNOT mosaic. It's mirror images of seahorses facing each other. This was made as a gift for my sister and my brother-in-law :-) Since Seahorses were their wedding theme, they're pretty happy that I made this for them. :-) (...) (...) Dave, Have you already tried Bob Kojima's program "Bricksaic"? DO IT !! (There's a link on the left side of lugnet.build.mosaic) His dithering algorythms don't always give perfect results, but you don't need that in this case ("nearest (...) (20 years ago, 12-May-06, to lugnet.build.mosaic)

(...) I actually would do it in bricks instead of plates, and I would use lime green, medium blue and regular blue... great way to get rid of lime green imo. I did my own interesting style (I called it just a SNOT-mosaic) back in Dec 2002: (URL) does not "mix" studs out and sideways bricks... but the technique is similar to what you've proposed here.
