I've seen one of these figs in person (not surprising, since I live in Boston).
they are definitely genuine and were given away at the park at least once.
Note that I'm not saying that these aren't from a second, cancelled giveaway.
What isn't clear is whether the Red Sox logo was screened on by LEGO, or placed
by a third party on blank figures supplied by LEGO (or through some other
manner).
