It's probably more a matter of taste and expediency. For example, I've changed the heads on all of my bearded warrant officers for smileys, to turn them into privates. I have a couple of questions the more informed members may know about. Do builders exchange the smiley face heads from one torso to another? I know this is a dumb question but the reason I ask involves the purchase at auction of the Imperial red and (...) (24 years ago, 18-Mar-01, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.pirates)

I am looking to build myself a mini-me out of lego to send to Suz and Todd's wedding, but of course I have a goatee and most minifigs don't.
