There probablly are places that will print metalic leaf for you.  I've even
seen printers (I don't remember if it was laser or Bubble jet) that printed
metalic gold.  they probablly also have ones that print metalic silver but
those are alot shinier than the classic torso plate.
I agree that they should have made them in white and that they should have
made the scale mail from the black knights in white and black.  I hope to
hear more on this project.

You also might want to try printing them as a light grey rather than silver.
Upon examining my figs they don't appear very metalic only slightly,

John

I'm planning on using stickers to make some classic Castle "knight" • minifigs
(belt, silver vest), since for some reason TLC never made them in white • or
yellow. . .I assume designing the stickers should be easy---scan 'em in • and
touch 'em up the GIMP or some other graphics program.  What I'm • wondering about
is printing.  Are there printers available (say, at Kinko's) that can • print a
decent metallic silver (say on transparent sticker sheets)?

There's a process which (I believe) uses heat to transfer foil to toner. • After
making copies at Kinko's onto some trans sticker sheets you may yourself • be able
to apply some silver foil.

I've never tried it, but this place has been selling materials for it for • at
least 10 years:

Paper Direct (sorry if this link gets cut up):

During the time I worked as a Copier Tech, 7 years, I learned toner is
basically a plastic substance, with other magnetic material conbined. they • use
about 470 degrees (varies depending on MFG) to fuse the toner to the • paper. So
the principle of bonding silver foil to toner on transfer sheets ought to • work.
Make sure you let the tranfers cool  after applying the foil or you may • get
some separation of the foil from the toner. I have never tried this but • the
concept intrigues me.I dont belive it would work from ink jet transfers as • the
image on the transfers would be ink and not toner particles. A laser jet
printer uses toner also so that could be a source to try too.

Let us know what your results are, ok ?
  Have fun!
John
