There's a process which (I believe) uses heat to transfer foil to toner. After
making copies at Kinko's onto some trans sticker sheets you may yourself be able
to apply some silver foil.
I've never tried it, but this place has been selling materials for it for at
least 10 years:

During the time I worked as a Copier Tech, 7 years, I learned toner is basically a plastic substance, with other magnetic material conbined. they use about 470 degrees (varies depending on MFG) to fuse the toner to the paper. So the principle (...) (24 years ago, 21-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.minifigs)
