Hey everyone,

I’ll add to the recent mecha boom with my latest, the MRM-1 (Multi Role
Mecha) Volcom.

Inspiration/credits: I used the hand design off the Tosai, which borrows
Mladen’s finger idea
(http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Mladen/Creations/Mecha/Wolf/wolf_27.jpg)
I also used pictures of the helldiver and the Hannibal from Patlabor 1 and 2
as inspiration.

The Volcom was designed to replace the Tosai, as it’s limited weapons
systems were now no match for current enemy mecha. The Volcom’s main role is
Anti Mecha and ground and low level (helicopters) enforcement. As a
secondary role, it can be fitted with a jetpack, extra sensory equipment,
sonar buoys and torpedo’s, to fill the ASW (Anti submarine Warfare) role.

Armament:

(1) 90 mm Anti armor Rifle
(1) 33 mm submachine gun
(8) AMGM’s (Anti Mecha Guided Missile)
(1) 40 mm grenade launcher
(1) Anti Personnel flame thrower
(16) Guided Missiles

ASW:

(16) Anti submarine/submersible mecha torpedo’s (small)
(2) Anti submarine/ship torpedo’s (large)

Defenses/extras:

(2) 3 man troop carriers
(2) supplies/ammo boxes
(1) in flight refueling probe
(1) Sensory canister
(1) jet pack
(9) sonar buoys
8 piece ERA (Explosive Reactive Armour) package

there you have it.

Let me know what you think!

Geordan, great mecha. Everything about this beauty just screams old skool; that's what I love about it. Very clean with the no studs look. I love the feet and legs, and the hands are interesting, blending the tried and true minifig legs and that (...) (22 years ago, 22-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

I think this is your best mecha yet, Geordan. ;-) The legs fascinate me the most. Excellent work on the hips. The weapons and accessories are all nice (except for one of 'em ;-D). I also like the head, similar to the one you had on your Tosai. (...) (22 years ago, 22-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) Geordan, this mecha has so many weapons, I bet they took longer to make then the mecha itself! LOL My two favorites are the ERA and the backpack with the pods. Too cool! And then to top it all off we get the money shot: (URL) Work!!!! out Tony (...) (22 years ago, 23-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) God has defintely blessed you in terms of making mech/mecha. (I am one of those who could care less about the whole mech/mecha finalities, I am just interested in making a cool looking fighting machine with a bazillion weapons.) Anyway, did (...)
