Hi,

I've put together my first WWII moc, a Heinkel He219 nightfighter
(German).  The He219 was a high-performance twin-engine fighter that debuted
in 1943.

Wow! that looks fabulous! the shape is so perfect, that is soooo cool! the
wings are great, as are the tail fins.

I love the engines too, they're sweet!

Have you thought of using two naboo fighter canopies one in front of the
other for the cockpit? It might look a tad bit more realistic, I dunno,

Anyways, great job! I look forward to seeing more of your stuff!

The 4 antennae in the front are supposed to be radar aerials, not guns.
Also, the two grey light-sabers sticking up out of the top of the aircraft
represent a Schrage-Musik istallation.  Schrage-Musik are duel cannons
firing upwards at a 60 degree angle, which was designed to destroy Allied
bombers from below.

Overall, I was happy with the results.  I liked the look of the dark-grey
with black underbody, and also how the engines turned out.   It might be
hard to tell from the photos, but the engine bases are each made up of 4
macaroni pieces, and a 4 x 4 round with holes.

  The things I didn't like were, one, running out of dark-grey 1 x N
plates, damnit.  You can see in the photos where I substituted light grey.
Other thing is that it's a bit flimsy - the engines and landing gear tend to
fall off.  Also, the real He219 had tricycle landing gear, whereas mine has
a tail-wheel (mine wouldn't balance with tricycle landing gear).

Anyways, let me know what you think.  The next idea I'm brewing will
hopefully come out better.

  Later,

  Gary

(...) Thanks! (...) Ahh! You ruined the suprise... I just got 2 of the canopies in from Brickbay, and am overhauling the front end with them. I'll repost the new photos when I'm done - should look *much* better. I should've waited to begin with, but (...) (23 years ago, 14-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.military)
