BTW, this is for the front upper turret, This seemed like the only way ot do
it, a little too small, but hopefully it helps or at least give you some
ideas for how to do it at a larger scale,

Very nice.  That captures the shape of the nose gun quite well.  Now I just
have to find a way to make it rotate....

oops, I didn't realize it rotated, I'll try and come up with something if
you want.

Feel free; I'll do the same.  The turret on the nose is a ball turret,
actually; it rotates and tilts.  We can fudge some of that, but I want it to be
as close as possible if I can.  For example the wings and tails have moving
flaps, the turrets on the side of the fuselage have guns that move side to side
(they probably should also move up and down, but I didn't bother to do that),
etc.

I could ask my dad about the details, but I don't think he's comfortable
talking about it.  I agree, the pics aren't very clear.  There are a couple of
color ones, but mostly they are of the ones that have been converted to forest
fire fighting (and the turrets removed).

I don't have any of those helicopter windscreens in trans-light-blue, which
is the color I'm planning to use for all the windows of this beast.
Perhaps i can find some on e-bay.

Try brickbay.com, very good way to get parts in bulk.

Yes, I know about BrickBay.  I just placed an order for some pieces which will
help.  When I said e-bay it was a typo.

I would love to have the radar dishes on the sides be
clear as well, since I think the real thing has glass on the sides.

The downside of working in black and white, didn't realize that, sorry, I
should ahve reasearched up a bit more.

I'm not actually 100% sure on that point, but I think so.  It would make sense,
anyway.  I looked around extensively on BrickBay and could find nothing
suitable in trans-light-blue to replace the radar dishes on the sides, so I may
just use those.

Thanks again for your help - you got me unstuck and I am not feeling nearly as
helpless as I was.
