closer to 1 than 2. the towers haven't actually seen any action yet. they
hate the crew-change because it means they have to pack up whatever gear
they brought, haul it up 9 or 10 ladders to the roof, then hold it as they
get winched up into a helicopter hovering overhead. in general, kelvini
helicopters are notoriously difficult to fly properly (with the exception of
the Raptor). so they get to be pulled out of their nice, safe, concrete
bastion, and "carried home in a rickety hovering boxcar powered by a trio of
asthmatic gerbils", as one soldier so eloquently put it.

| (...) of (...) of (...) Hmmm. Sounds like they need one of two things: 1) Deployable helicopter landing pad that can retract like a drawbridge from the side of the tower. OR: 2) Cage with some medicine in it for the gerbils. I guess it really boils (...) (21 years ago, 12-Jun-03, to lugnet.build.military)
