Re: My new work "M4A1 Sherman"

(...) A very nice MOC of a Sherman. I thought the angles would be hard to capture, but you did a great job. Thanks, George (23 years ago, 26-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.military)

(...) into the angled slope of the tail boom of the Emil. If you look at a couple of the real pictures, you'll note it extends straight from the cockpit, angling upwards from the bottom. On this note, has anybody else noticed that the hardest part (...) (23 years ago, 26-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.military)

  New Mecha, The Rf-79 Tiger

Hey'all! It's been awhile since I posted a new mecha, but here it is, the Byzantine Tiger, (yes it's the same one as in my story) I don't really like giving a explanation for my mecha anymore, but this one sort of begs it so here goes, My (...)   Re: Messerschmitt BF-109 "Emil"

(...) Here's a quick mock-up of a fuselage cross I've been planning to put on my own Bf-109 in progress. It keeps the fuselage small, and rounded. Rather than have the tiles on top, one might even get away with 1x2 plates-with-center-stud, and a 1xn (...) (23 years ago, 26-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: Messerschmitt BF-109 "Emil"

(...) The Star Wars canopy isn't entirely accurate. The BF 109's front windshield was a lot steeper then the SW canopy's is. I honestly don't think that, at this scale, a side-opening canopy is even possible. Fuselage crosses? I'd have to change the (...) (23 years ago, 26-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: Messerschmitt BF-109 "Emil"

(...) the same way as the original, the shape is about right, which is very hard to do. Good idea to use that Star Wars canopy. I like the cross on the wings - but I challenge you to put one on the fuselage as well... (SNOT plates would do it, and (...) (23 years ago, 26-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.military)

  Messerschmitt BF-109 "Emil"

For my next model, I chose the Messerschmitt BF-109 Emil. I have to give thanks to Shaun Sullivan and Gary Thomas; Sullivan for inspiring the use of screwdrivers as machine guns, and Thomas for inspiring the blended insignia. Thanks, you two! (now (...)   Re: Vought F-4 Corsair

(...) <snipped really good history on US aircraft numbering schemes> Bill -- Thanks for the refresher on this. I knew about the AAC/USAF but had actually forgotten about the Navy's approach (and why.. well at least HOW.. will anyone ever understand (...) (23 years ago, 23-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Take Two - Heinkel He219 WWII German Nightfighter

(...) Thanks so much - I appreciate the comments. I'm actually redoing a few things (again...), but I think I'll put up a page somewhere (instead of just brickshelf) for this and some future project ideas. I'll post the info whenever I get (...) (23 years ago, 23-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.military)
