Fuselage crosses? I'd have to change the design of the crosses because at
their current dimensions (5 bumps in each direction) it would be too big to
fit on the fuselage. I could probably rip off Shaun's crosses though, and
make them 3x3.

Here's a quick mock-up of a fuselage cross I've been planning to put on my own
Bf-109 in progress.  It keeps the fuselage small, and rounded.  Rather than
have the tiles on top, one might even get away with 1x2
plates-with-center-stud, and a 1xn tile running along the midline to get more
top curvature.  Anyway, here's the idea:

Overall, though, your plane looks great.  I love the various paint schemes that
were used on the Bf-109, the yellow nose really looks stellar.  How accurate is
it scalewise?  The wings look a little short, I think, and the total length is
a bit low, I believe ... am I right?  You might have simply adopted some
selective compression, but I will say that you captured the lines and shape of
the fuselage very very well!

I am especially impressed with the SNOT techniques in the tail and rudder!  I
might have to "abscond" with some of those ideas in my rendition heh heh heh.
Seriously, the reverse angles on the trailing edges of the tail look fantastic,
and the way you built the rudder, to achieve the split coloration, is
exceedingly nice!

Keep it up!  Hopefully I'll have mine done before too long too ...

Grrrrrr, can't believe you beat me to it :P

(...) The Star Wars canopy isn't entirely accurate. The BF 109's front windshield was a lot steeper then the SW canopy's is. I honestly don't think that, at this scale, a side-opening canopy is even possible. Fuselage crosses? I'd have to change the (...) (23 years ago, 26-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.military)
