  Re: More USS Duluth Photos

(...) Mmmmm. Finished it looks even better. I've gotta say, now that I can see it more closely, that I'm really intrigued by some of the solutions you've devised for microfig scale warship details. The searchlights are my big favorites, along with (...) (21 years ago, 10-Apr-03, to lugnet.build.military)

  3 new spaceish Mocs!

Hello all, I've got my first "real" space Moc under my belt. I've built space before, but this is my first cool space vehicle or so I think. ;^) I present the HLAATV or "T-24 Boar" (URL) the longest time I've wanted to build a dropship. I've (...)   More USS Duluth Photos

I just added five more now that it's "complete" and with more details added: (URL) no big explanation as I'm quite swamped at the moment! Dan (21 years ago, 9-Apr-03, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: Laser Tower

(...) Thanks for the kudos, my friend. (...) For the laser tower, it was based off of a piece from an out of print board game called Fortress America. I think there are alot of humbling, oustanding, if not epic mocs out there. That said, the one (...) (21 years ago, 5-Apr-03, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: Laser Tower

In lugnet.build.military, Keith Goldman writes: <<snip>> (...) Highlighted, perhaps too late. Oh! Oh! Oh! How on earth could I miss this when it was announced? I have no clue! I am so glad I found it now! I don't know where to start! It's amazing! (...) (21 years ago, 4-Apr-03, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: Laser Tower

(...) Hey Keith. I cannot believe I missed this huge, amazing MOC. I love it! Did you use up all your bricks? :) I am always looking for minifig scale dioramas, but most importantly, the ones with such great details as yours. What's this? You also (...)   Re: Laser Tower

Felix, (the Sea-monkey-pontiff?) Thanks for the kudos, I really appreciate it. The laser tower is one of my favorite projects. The greatest compliment in the thread was that it was easy to picture the Laser tower down the street from station 45. Its (...) (21 years ago, 3-Apr-03, to lugnet.build.military, lugnet.space)

  Re: Laser Tower

(...) It's probably more a reflection of how few people check .build.military than anything else. Keith, if you're reading this, crosspost to .space next time! ;-) (...) I haven't noticed that. Could you give some examples? (...) No argument there. (...) (21 years ago, 3-Apr-03, to lugnet.build.military, lugnet.space)

  Re: Laser Tower

Keith, I did not see this last summer but I would also like to add that you have definitely captured an industrial/military feel to this setup! The details are really extraordinary--from the wheel on the pressure tanks (?) to the working welder. I (...) (21 years ago, 2-Apr-03, to lugnet.build.military, lugnet.space)

  Re: Laser Tower

Totally. I remember seeing this before and then got caught up on Keith's other creations and forgot to go back. Like the Hot Weather assortment, the base is wonderful in it's 'dirty' details. I'd really like to see more of the ambulance ship on the (...) (21 years ago, 2-Apr-03, to lugnet.build.military, lugnet.space)

  Re: Laser Tower

(...) I agree with you Felix. The 'texture' of this model is intense. It goes beyond mere greebling. Heck, the Medical Ship that is landed on the pad looks like an amazing MOC in itself, and yet it is easily dwarfed by the details and scale of the (...)   Re: Laser Tower

This is by no means a new creation, but I was shocked at the lack of response Keith got for this one. The whole industrial/military feel is great; which is hard to do since most MOCs that try to look serious still look 'cute'. Your stuff rocks, (...) Hi- Dan references an excellent website with information about military hardware: The Federation of American Scientists: www.fas.org The link to the page about Land Weapons Systems has a good discussion of Direct and Indirect weapons: (URL) it up, (...)   Cigarette Hulls

Greetings! I'm somewhat new here, been lurking for a couple of months, and learning a lot of new things and drooling at all the fantastic creations. There is one thing, however, that I need help with: How can one make a decent-looking cigarette boat (...) (22 years ago, 24-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: Getting carried away....

(...) I downloaded plans for the Destroyer from their website.... (URL) pieced 'em together in Photoshop and enlarged them to minifig scale (1 stud = 1 foot). The ship is 376 feet long and 40 feet wide. Do the math and you'll figure out how big the (...) (22 years ago, 22-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: Getting carried away....

(...) Can you advance more info about dimensions of the project? Essentially the bow part, that is. Great work, Pedro (22 years ago, 22-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: A really simple technical question

(...) um, no, I believe you are mistaken. The m109 (which is the howitzer I'm familiar with) had a turret. And that's because, usually, in the same position, you will be tasked with quite a few fire missions - on different targets. So you have to (...) (22 years ago, 22-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.military)
