Man, I searched Peeron, the Parts Ref, and Bricklink too. Somehow I managed to miss it. I don’t remember precisely now, but I think I searched words like: technic, pin, friction, and axle. Go figure...

In the meanwhile, I have experimented with something I think I read about once here -- the old paperclip wire between the slots trick. I needed it for something else last night and it does indeed work. I guess I’m just wondering if the extra tightness damages the female receiving elements -- does it make them too loose later on for ordinary use?
