  Debut MOCs: Landmate Frenzy

Greetings! I've been lurking about .mecha for awhile, and having seen so many cool creations, I thought I'd toss in a few of my own. Deep Links: (URL) Moderation: (URL) and all input is appreciated. Take care, Soren (21 years ago, 1-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Debut MOCs: Landmate Frenzy

Hey Soren- NICE job on these little works of art! They are really awesome! I especially enjoyed looking over the HLM-2b and the K3A. Mladen is gonna be jealous that you whipped up a Sand green mecha first... :<) The Suzuki-HLM-2b is really nice, (...) (21 years ago, 1-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Debut MOCs: Landmate Frenzy

(...) Pshah, Mladen can deal. Wait 'til he sees what I did to his Pixie! (...) more angular. And yes, they are missile racks I'm not surprised by the resemblance. I'm a big fan of SDF Macross, one of the series that Battletech lifted designs from. (...) (21 years ago, 1-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Debut MOCs: Landmate Frenzy

i checked your creations out yesterday and i was incredibly impressed. i really dig how each of your mechs are very compact and chunky. it makes them seem more brutish. great weapons, too. my favorite is the k3a-landmate. it would be great if you (...)   Re: Debut MOCs: Landmate Frenzy

(...) Thanks! I like to build small, it allows me to stretch my skills. The K3A seems to go over well with everyone I've shown it to (some of the guys at an anime club I belong to couldn't put it down!). I thought some of the weapons were a little (...)   Re: Debut MOCs: Landmate Frenzy

(...) I just did! Nice! (...) Ohhhhhhhh, ok. I have alot more cash than I used too, but still not enough to get everything I want, like Yoda. (...) Ahh, yes. I know a *little* about appleseed, but not enough to have spotted that. What exactly do you (...) (21 years ago, 1-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Debut MOCs: Landmate Frenzy

(...) I know the feeling. I'm strapped for cash right now, in fact. My wallet's bleeding from the ISD, and I only paid half. (...) Hmm. My main sources are Hobby Japan and various websites. I also collect manga, so I had the Appleseed books at hand (...) (21 years ago, 2-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Debut MOCs: Landmate Frenzy

(...) Some high quality stuff. I especially like the k3a looks like a really tough mech. I can't wait to see more of your creations-Semaj (URL) (21 years ago, 3-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Debut MOCs: Landmate Frenzy

(...) Sorry, should have been more clear. It was a present, but I had to split the price with the giver. Long story, don't ask, blah blah blah. I do know of someone who got one at half price, but I have no more information. Take care, Soren (21 years ago, 3-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Debut MOCs: Landmate Frenzy

(...) Thanks! I've got more mecha to photograph, so you'll see more of me in the near future. Take care, Soren (21 years ago, 3-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Debut MOCs: Landmate Frenzy

Ahh I'm falling behind! Soren, these are really cool. I like all the MOCs you made. You have this very cool style of suit tech. Just great to look at. Compact and hearty! I like the way these have the mini-fig pilot and how chest and head portions (...) (21 years ago, 3-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Debut MOCs: Landmate Frenzy

(...) (Goes into anime-style "superdeformed" mode and squeals "He likes them, he likes them! Yaaaaaaay!") They'd barely be a snack for your stuff though... If you like my pathetic landmates you might consider buying a set of Appleseed manga. (...) (21 years ago, 3-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Debut MOCs: Landmate Frenzy

(...) Thank you very much! I'm glad you like them. I've got a few more to photograph, so I'll probably post again soon. Take care, Soren (21 years ago, 4-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Debut MOCs: Landmate Frenzy

(...) K3a? I liked the old version with the single launcher. Looking forward to seeing more pics. (please) p.s. Didn't you also have a big cap ship on brickshelf? - Later Mark M. (21 years ago, 4-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Debut MOCs: Landmate Frenzy

(...) I've got some old pics on my drive. I'll e-mail them to you if you like. I personally prefer the new high-capacity missile racks, and I wanted to keep the pics consistent. Sorry 'bout that. (...) Don't worry, I've got lots more to photograph. (...) (21 years ago, 5-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Debut MOCs: Landmate Frenzy

(...) Don't worry about it. I just liked the look of single launcher. (...) Great! Can't wait (...) Remember, Beauty is in the eye...   Re: Debut MOCs: Landmate Frenzy

Soren I took my time to really look at all the creation you posted and I have made several observations. You have studied the works of Colin I see. Nice. Ok... CL04: Ingenious hands, but seem skimpy compared to overall bulk of the mech. I really dig (...) (21 years ago, 10-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Debut MOCs: Landmate Frenzy

(...) For this one I was trying to evoke an industrial sort of feel. I agree, the arms are weird looking, but it's part of the design. It doesn't carry any armor, and I tried a little too hard to show that. I'll consider adding more tan, but most of (...) (21 years ago, 10-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Debut MOCs: Landmate Frenzy

(...) is my favorite. I can definitely see the Appleseed influence (not just in the name). Great job. Pleaaa...aaase give us more. Later. (21 years ago, 10-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Debut MOCs: Landmate Frenzy

Hi there, Soren! I thought I'd toss in my $.02 since I'm the odd color lover around here.... :) (URL) is a nice, compact design-looks quite a bit like what power armor should look like. You threw me for a loop when I saw this because I couldn't (...) (21 years ago, 10-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Debut MOCs: Landmate Frenzy

That's pretty nifty Soren. My fave is the minigun, a little oversized but nice since it seems your going after a slightly comic book look. Which are plusses BTW, Masmune Shiro is an inspiration I take it? Where's Knute? Good use of droid bits (...) (21 years ago, 11-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Debut MOCs: Landmate Frenzy

(...) Thanks! I thought the minigun was a bit ridiculous, but it was too much fun to leave out of the weapons selection. (...) You got it! She's on my long, long custom minifig list. Of course, I gotta have Briareos if I have her, and I'm not nearly (...) (21 years ago, 11-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)
