Speaking of licensing, a big reason why I dislike FASA (makers of Battletech)
is their extreme misuse of designs that didn't belong to them... The Marauder,
Phoenix Hawk, Stinger, Wasp, Rifleman, Warhammer, Longbow (i'm probably
forgetting some), bassically all of the original "Mechs" from the first edition
Battletech game except the Griphon (which is a cheesy rip-off of a Southern
Cross Bioroid), and the Locust were stolen, without licence or notification
from various famous Japanese Anime series (most of those listed above from
Macross/Robotech)... Strangely telling are 1) that the Japanese release of
Battletech features the same 'Mech names, but totally different (and MUCH
cooler) designs, and 2) that several years ago, after someone pointed out how
terribly similar those parrticular 'Mechs were to Copyrighted material, FASA
chose to retire several of the original 'Mechs (guess which ones?).
Sigh... then they have the audacity to threaten to sue people for using the
term "Mech".
ObLEGO:
I've got all of the Pics rendered for the next Pallas Spaceworks update... Now
I've just got to write some copy, clean up the DAT files and upload it.
