Doh... I forgot to address this.
"Robotech" in the US was an assimilation of three unrelated cartoons in
Japan: Macross, Genesis Climber Mospaeda, and Orguss.
The "ride armor" comes from Genesis Climber Mospaeda. I don't know
much about this cartoon, though... you'll have to check the 'net for more
info.
There were some toys made by Gakken... I had one of the "Alpha
Veritechs." I also had the large scale figure with the "ride armor."

| To All, (...) no (...) early (...) Hmm.. I was just looking through these two. If anyone remembers, they did have the Robotech cartoon on the air in Flint, Michigan for a year or so, and that was my first taste of Robotech. I also got several (...) (24 years ago, 7-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)
