Bobby,

True, but it is the only way to make a better magician.

Don't get me wrong-- the NOM2 is quite an accomplishment, and you should be
pleased, but I'm most enamored by that first impression.

I am pleased indeed, but if the actual NOM-02 turns out right I might even be
happy :)

That being said, I'm amazed at the hip structure-- how does it support all
that topweight?

There has been a lot of matterial writen here lately on joint pieces, so I
simply wanted to test the most unusuall and unstable pieces and see what
happens.  The truth is that the weight goes directly down the 4x1 pices and the
two legs counter balance each other.  At the same time, the weight of the torso
is uniformly distribute over the whole joint structure so it doesn't cave in.
It's purpose was to hold together for a month or two, and it has done so rather
nicely.

I couldn't quite tell what was going on in the ankles, but
it looks like you are using a combination of modified 1x2s and 1x1s with
clips and bars, which can be a relatively strong technique, but (I've found)
only in certain positions, and only at certain model heights. In fact, I've
used this technique on _most_ of my models, and now, with a 23 incher in the
works, I found I can't rely on it if I want to pose the creation.

Almost all of the joints in this Gundam are the same joints used to make the
arms of NOM-01 but with two of them in parallel.  I never use the ankel joint
to try and manipulate the model from it, so a relatively stable joint with a
descent amount of friction in it always works for me (but it is not good for
posing).  Now what is this?  A 23 incher?  Sounds very interesting.

I hope to see this mecha grow and develop!

Thanks, I hope it really does!
Have fun building!
