The more I look at the new elements, the more I like them. The new arms look
really interesting, and also have Technic pegs on the joint ends. Other parts
look like they have "potential" too.

Oh, and Borislav, why diss the designers so harshly? Honestly, I think they are
just as good at constructing models as the average builder. The reason why the
sets turn out like they do is a result of other factors IMHO. For example, TLG
might need to make the sets have a lower piece count, to lower the cost by a
small amount. Or they might want their set designers to incorporate new pieces
into the model. I really don't know the specific reasons, but I am sure they
exist.

WHAT ARE THESE IDIOTS THINKING!!!  This is a mech!!??  These guys have really
lost it!!!!  This doesn't even barely quiallify for pathetic!  Just the • thought
that someone got payed to "design" this ... is absolutely revolting (maybe • they
had a three year old to help)!

I'd have to agree here, Mladen. The set is made based on the parts available at
the time. Also, the designers need to make a recognizable model without copying
an existing one. Given what they were working with, I really like the end
result.

I guess one reason that I'm so excited about the 2002 AT sets is a)higher piece
count per set and b)the inclusion of more Technic-friendly parts. The LOM mecha
were interesting, but this set is much greater than the sum of its's parts-
something the 2002 sets seem to be having in spades.
