Heh... I actually like it. This is a typical LEGO robot design, so why should
anyone be surprised/shocked?

The more I look at the new elements, the more I like them. The new arms look
really interesting, and also have Technic pegs on the joint ends. Other parts
look like they have "potential" too.

Oh, and Borislav, why diss the designers so harshly? Honestly, I think they are
just as good at constructing models as the average builder. The reason why the
sets turn out like they do is a result of other factors IMHO. For example, TLG
might need to make the sets have a lower piece count, to lower the cost by a
small amount. Or they might want their set designers to incorporate new pieces
into the model. I really don't know the specific reasons, but I am sure they
exist.

(...) I'd have to agree here, Mladen. The set is made based on the parts available at the time. Also, the designers need to make a recognizable model without copying an existing one. Given what they were working with, I really like the end result. I (...) (23 years ago, 21-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) Yeah, I was a bit too harsh yesterday, sorry about that. It is these other factors that I am protesting against. Many people liked Star Wars Episode I for example, but the majority of old Star Wars fans were uterly disgusted by it. In the same (...) (23 years ago, 21-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
