Now what is this I hear?  Evangelion Unit 03?  What a coincidence, I have just
finished the frame of the torso for my Eva

Really you're working on one too?  This is awesome, we'll probably have to
compare notes at some time. :)

I was talking to Chris Snead last week and Evangelion came up in our
converstation.  I'd been meaning to build one for a while but it was mostly
just talk until last night. I was pulling stuff out of a box and there were
my Eva model and action figures staring at me.  So I started to build,
beginning with what will probably be the most challenging part, the torso.

(or maybe no coincidence at all
since Neon Genesis Evangelion was on TV wast week).

It's on TV?  Cartoon Network?  I gotta start watching TV again.

How agile is your torso?
This is an issue of great concern to me... how agile should the torso for the
Evas be?  Back and forward motion only (what Eric is doing now) vs. the whole
package: back forward, left-right?  Or age you going to build a Gundam style
Eva with a one piece torso?

Have fun building!
Bobby

Eris is working on an Eva too?

Anyways, so far my torso has 3 points of articulation in the spine including
forward-back, side to side motion at each point.  I'm basing the
articulation off my bandai model which is similarly featured.  I'm doing
this in less then 4 inches of space because I don't want it to get to big.
It should stand at about 14-16".

Before I had started on the torso for the Eva, I thought I was gonna build a
solid torso like my Zaku.  But last week when I was taking pictures of my
Zaku I realized how unfortunate it is to have no waist articulation.  When
it came time to do a sniper pose, the Zaku just couldn't manage.  So for the
Eva articulation city!

sniper pose . . . mmmmmmmmmmmm.

(...) Sounds good to me. (...) Lucky you! It's only thee hours ago that it came to me, that I have no Eva models and hardly any pictures of Evas on my computer! (...) It was on KTEH here in the Bay Area last few weeks. It's a good thing they showed (...) (23 years ago, 3-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) Nice! (...) No need for stickers :) (...) It is a Deathscythe Hell Prototype (all six shoulder mounted armor plates missing and no backpack). This is the mech that I have been talking about for a while now. It has no technic parts or click (...) (23 years ago, 3-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
