better photographic technique

So here's an improvement on my photographic technique:

Notice how the plates look more like metal and the detail is
crisp. It's still a dark image but it has a far more realistic
(almost menacing) quality than this earlier one which
looks like cheap plastic rather than gundanium alloy:

This change was brought about simply by putting
a translucent piece of white plastic
(i.e a tupperware cover) between the halogen light
and the model to create a more diffuse illumination.
Looks like I'm on the right path.

(...) Very good, you are getting better and better at this. I must agree with the previous reply though, go and make more images! Personal request, could you please take a shot of one of your Gundams as if a minifig on the ground was taking a (...) (23 years ago, 26-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

I agree with you Brian. That is a better image. In particular the glare on the triangle wing pieces adds a metallic look while the shadow defines the plane breaks well. Still a very nice mecha. Yes interesting, the sheen of the Black with out the look of plastic. That is one awesome looking Mech. Absolutely fantastic! I know what it is about your style now that I'm so drawn to.
