NO MARK!!!!  You should DEFINITELY give it a try.  Doing the valkyrie has
always been my "Holy Grail" project since I was a kid.  If there's more
people taking a stab at the project, the closer we get to a really good
design.  I'm still cringe at the big valk I did.

I started working on a couple of other
projects instead. (one of them being the StarScream I did). Now that
StarScream's nearly done (and I've got builder's block again)
The StarScream is awesome!!!  I was thoroughly impressed by it when I saw
it.  With that kind of benchmark in place, I think your attempt at a
valkyrie design will be awesome.

Once again, you raise the bar...
the smaller design just looks even better (and amazingly, even more
accurate) than your first, and still looks capable of holding a minifig. To
top it all of it's all colour accurate, even the armour!
I've done a couple of things to improve the looks further.  I extended the
nose two studs and made the overall profile a bit sleeker.  The paint job is
much more accurate now that I have more gray pieces.  I also added black and
yellow trim so it looks like Roy Folker's valkyrie from Robotech.  The armor
is almost done.

I should stick to Transforming trucks, I think =p
That would be cool, after you attempt the valkyrie of course!

Great stuff. Can't wait to see the finished one either.
The valkyrie is actually done.  The white, red, and blue ones are halfway
there and will be finished as soon as I get more pieces.  I'm also been
thinking about doing a Jetfire paint scheme.  The good thing about these
smaller valks is it's easy to make multiples of them.  :)

As soon as I finish these little valks, I'm definitely gonna take another
stab at the big valk.  I look forward to your design and whoever else is
planning on giving it a try.

(...) Heh... well, that's just it... I cringed because mine wasn't that good (and the bits that were good looked like I was copying yours -- I wanted to go back and redo it and make it look more original). And it was huge and unsturdy (I only had (...) (24 years ago, 15-Mar-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
