I think I remember reading an article about a four-legged pick-up truck
developed by MIT (or Harvard) back several decades. History Channel, I
believe. The basic problem was that the legs were too slow, to keep it's
weight balanced required 3 legs on the ground, so overall it's top speed was
a good 5 mph. It did, however, have the ability to climb somewhat (picture
of it climbing a pile of logs). The very first true SUV!
