  IRON MECHA, One Week Left

Outstanding my Mecha Masters! (munches on Bell Pepper) We are all have very much fun watching your progress. So much in fact that I'm hoping that I'm keeping up with you all. Below is a listing of all the contestants, the name of the entry (if one (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.announce) !

  Re: Iron Mecha: Provost

(...) Wow, that's really impressive. You really captured the picture very well. Steve (19 years ago, 24-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Iron Mecha: Provost

This is my Iron Mecha entry: Provost (URL) After moderation: (URL) I'm reasonably happy with the outcome. Any comments are welcome. Cheers, Mark. (19 years ago, 24-Jan-06, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Venom Mech

Hey Nathan, Beautifully simple design with the best airtight cockpit design that I've seen in awhile. Great work! Dave S. "Nathan Proudlove" <nathanberry@load.com> wrote in message news:ItK7Iv.J0K@lugnet.com... (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Iron Mecha Entry - The Gentleman Crab

(...) Very nice Keith! The fleshy colours give it a biomechanical feel, which is pretty cool and different. I also really like the missile pods, and the way they have a (URL) stowed> position. A few questions: What's in the (URL) hatch>? Is this (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Iron Mecha Entry - The Gentleman Crab

(...) Nice. I'm getting itchy in the pants just looking at it. The background is ok too. a (19 years ago, 24-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Iron Mecha Entry - The Gentleman Crab

Yes, I realize that crabs have 6 legs and claws and whatnot, but this crab would like to take you out for an evening on the town. Who would turn down the Gentleman Crab? (URL) He's not much in the way of gearing, or articulation, but he knows how to (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New MOC: L-21 Mobile Multi-Role Platform (MMP)

(...) LOL! Thanks Keith. I would love to bring one of my MPs to Brickfest, but I'm not sure they will last till then. See, I LDraw all my models and then take them apart, to free up the parts for other works. A big creation like this puts a sizeable (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New MOC: L-21 Mobile Multi-Role Platform (MMP)

Mladen, you never fail to bring the heat. Everyone has already hit on the great details, all I'm going to add is that it is highly arousing. No Brickfest will ever be complete until you bring one of these things to devastate the train/town layout. (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Venom Mech

(...) That is awesome Nathan! I just love the wild, almost cartoony look of it. Not that that is a bad thing. It's just that it has very clean, smooth lines. The posable legs reinforce this. The weapons are great as well. I'm a huge fan of insanely (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

My finished Iron Mecha entry - The Red Queen

(2 URLs) Armed with a 15 Jiggawatt railgun and a high-explosive missile launcher, the Red Queen dominates the battlescape of the weird place where giant tanks with legs are actually physically possible and militarily sound. It is piloted by Eddie (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New MOC: L-21 Mobile Multi-Role Platform (MMP)

(...) Thanks Kyle! I use the orange for the missile wells as a kind of "warning" colour. The orange looks better against the greys than red or yellow. Glad you like it. (...) It's absolutely shameful that I still haven't seen it. The next time I (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New MOC: L-21 Mobile Multi-Role Platform (MMP)

(...) As always, thanks Chris! You're right; I'm now far more concerned with making things flow together smoothly and making each detail, as you say, "deliberate". Oh, and I was going to use your smallest worm gear joints for each gun, but (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New MOC: L-21 Mobile Multi-Role Platform (MMP)

(...) Heh, thanks Bryce! I've been following the Iron Mecha contest very closely. I just love how inventive all the entries have been so far. I also like how a lot of problems I have encountered in building large multiped mecha have been revealed, (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New MOC: L-21 Mobile Multi-Role Platform (MMP)

(...) Thanks Anthony! I get what you're saying about the guns. I would love to make long, round-barrelled guns, but LEGO only makes 1x1 or 2x2 rounded tubes. 1x1 is IMO too skinny for the primary cannons, and 2x2 is too fat. I really wish there was (...)   Re: New MOC: L-21 Mobile Multi-Role Platform (MMP)

(...) Awesome new weapons platform, Mladen! Others have commented on the "hammerhead", the gatling gun, the missile doors, the sensors--in other words, they didn't leave me much. But they left me something! I love the hidden "inset" colors--the (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New MOC: L-21 Mobile Multi-Role Platform (MMP)

(...) Thank you LFB! I always look forward to reading your replies! :-) (...) The railgun turrets are connected to the body with my (URL) joint-stiffening technique> that I've been using since the MWP. However, I had to modify it sideways by using (...)   Re: New MOC: L-21 Mobile Multi-Role Platform (MMP)

(...) Hey, I always look forward to new mecha from you; this one is no exception. You have a real talent for adding detail so that it looks clean and deliberate. I especially like the gun turrets, and how you used those round slopes to create a full (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New MOC: L-21 Mobile Multi-Role Platform (MMP)

(...) I always love the military look of your mecha. This one doesn't disappoint. I like the beefy thighs. As always your guns are second to none. You could almost get away with saying this is your Iron Mecha entry. Not much else to say, really just (...) (19 years ago, 23-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Iron Mecha 2nd Update

(...) Hey, that's looking really interesting! I like the knees, and the fact that it has a very industrial look to it... Can't wait to see the finished product! Later, Chris (19 years ago, 23-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
