  More WIP

Here are some more WIP photos. I seem to be posting the most (I thought that was the idea), anyway I hope no one minds. Again, My Mecha is going to be complete symmetric. I always think multi-legged Mecha should be symmetrical that way they can move (...) (19 years ago, 9-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.org.us.cedarlug, FTX)

Re: New Mindstorms Robot (hadn't heard a peep here on .mecha)

(...) Hmm - looking closely at the arm - you're be right - and I may have been rash. 8436 definitely does not have the piece at the bottom of that arm. It just has standard 3x5 L shapes. My Blog has been updated accordingly - including a nice (...) (19 years ago, 9-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Welcome to the Building Arena, IRON MECHA

(...) OK. So I now have a finished Mk I version (URL) I'll be updating it as I get new ideas but the basic design is unlikely to change much. Tim (19 years ago, 9-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Welcome to the Building Arena, IRON MECHA

(...) It seems to me that there needs to be some clarification. Your question of how many entries has been answered by Mark to be 1 entry per person But the creative nature of this contest would seemingly allow multiple models presented as a single (...)   Re: Welcome to the Building Arena, IRON MECHA

(...) WOW!!! New and ambitious. You are off to a great start. As sturdy as your hips appear to be your Mecha is going to be about 3 feet tall when finished. (19 years ago, 9-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Welcome to the Building Arena, IRON MECHA

(...) Marco, This is a gem of a build. I love the color pattern, the compactness of the Mecha and the brillance of the pneumatic t pieces are joints. What more can be refined? Your done! -Brian (19 years ago, 9-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Welcome to the Building Arena, IRON MECHA

Part 4: Oh no! Copying other students' work is not allowed! Well, we're getting close to the final design. I was pretty sure that the Exo-Force joints were going to be the right choice as I had always planned on an ultra-lightweight body: (URL) Also (...)   Re: Welcome to the Building Arena, IRON MECHA

(...) Thanks Mark. I'll post my progress pics in this thread. For now i have pics of the pelvis assembly and a hip joint. (URL) link> (19 years ago, 9-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

(...) You are more than welcome to enter Sam. Build on. You have until Feb 1st to finish. (19 years ago, 8-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Welcome to the Building Arena, IRON MECHA

Is it too late to enter the contest? I'm new to lugnet so i wasn't able to post a message until today (19 years ago, 7-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: WIP

Here are some works in process pics that I have taken. I have appreciated the comments. If you have more please let me know. Side Note Rant: While I am not building or looking at LEGO bricks, I don't really care that LEGO changed a few colors. Then (...) (19 years ago, 8-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Robot Head Evolution

(...) Thank you, Marco! I plan to make a few changes to this (as yet unnamed) robot over the next few weekends. There are still a few areas I can improve, I think. I'll post a proper announcement when it's complete. Pete (19 years ago, 7-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Robot Head Evolution

(...) This looks so cool. You're the small mecha genius. Don't get it wrong, small is the attribute for mecha! It's really hard to do such fantastic looking work at this size! I love your work (URL) Marco> (19 years ago, 7-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Welcome to the Building Arena, IRON MECHA

Here we go, I put off posting progress pics for a while because, well, I wasn't making much progress, or to be more precise, I wasn't happy with the progress that I was making. I have two partially completed mechs waiting for scrap and finally this (...) (19 years ago, 7-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Robot Head Evolution

(...) Using a rubber band is a really good idea, which I may have to borrow from you, Jeff. There is some slackness in the string, and it needs to be pulled back against the curve of the face every so often. I'm confident I can 'train' the string (...)   Robot Head Evolution

Last night I had a breakthrough with mini robot head design. I was trying variations of the basic MegaTurtle (URL) and Nova (URL) head design. And I came up with this: (URL) I thought the reversed Grevious head looked pretty cool...but it needed an (...) (19 years ago, 7-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

(...) That's ok. So everything I showed up to now is only work in progress. I'd suggest that the official contest entry should be posted with ¬ "Iron Mecha Contest 2006 Entry" in the subject line. Marco (19 years ago, 7-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha)
