I've noticed for several months that .mecha seems to take a lot longer than the rest of Lugnet to load. I'm on a T-3 line here but have noticed the same thing at home on DSL. Seeing as how I'm not super internet speed savvy is there anyone who knows (...) (18 years ago, 29-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Probably just that the main page is so image heavy. I'm on cable and it loads slowly for me as well. Also, I keep my monitor at 1920 x 1440, and still have to scroll down to see everything. it's a very heavily loaded page. I would suggest fewer (...) (18 years ago, 29-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) I asked Todd about this a few years ago. He assured me that the page loads just as fast as other newsgroups. Really it does load slow. Always has. I think it has to do with the newsgroups placement as a sub group of .build. I once tried an (...) (18 years ago, 29-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) If the location of .mecha as a subgroup of .build is the reason for the slow loading, we should take another attempt to what (URL) Mark suggested 10 month ago>. Although Mecha isn't an official LEGO theme I'd suggest to put it as a top level (...) (18 years ago, 29-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.admin.suggestions, FTX)

(...) It isnt, but then between exoforce and Bionacle they have headed generally in the mecha direction for some time. Some of the classic space sets were mecha-like. Another idea to speed up the database search. If the database is on SQL or similar it could speed up the search if an indice was created which lists according to group and subgroup. Just a thought. Marco (18 years ago, 30-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)
