  Re: Worm Gear Problem

(...) The backlash (spacing between the teeth of a gear and the splines on the worm gear) is difficult to over come. There are some techniques to reduce the effect. 1. Use Technic Throwbot Gear Boxes and use a z40 in the set up. 2. Use a compund (...) (19 years ago, 21-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: BrickMech Mechs AND another competition idea/question

(...) Thanks. I wanted to build something new for last weeks MichLUG meeting and I decided that I wanted to see what I could do with sand green. Dark red is next on my list... (...)   Lego Mecha Hall of Fame FYI

(...) It should be noted that Eric no longer speaks for nor is part of the LMHoF. Some time ago he chose to remove himself from the group and the website. As such he no longer speaks for nor is associated with the LMHoF. (19 years ago, 21-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Worm Gear Problem

Would someone care to tell me how to take the slack out of wormgear joints? I love their strenth but hate the wobble. Anything you can give me would be appreciated. Thanks. -Brayton (19 years ago, 21-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: IRON MECHA

(...) Mr Chairman, please taking the cares to not spit out toothily when you the red pepper of LEGO constructed biting. There's no way I can win this. And I'm not sorted AT ALL.   Re: MAD-CM-01 - First humanoid mecha

I just love bipedal mecha that can do poses! Well done on that account Danny! :-) The legs and the arms are pretty good, but that torso is just a bit too thin. I know you probably made it that way to balance the mecha when standing, but you could (...) (19 years ago, 21-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: BrickMech Mechs

(...) Hi Peter, First of, thanks for posting this. It's a refreshing break from all the bickering. :-) (...) I really like the interchangeable parts thing you got going. Rick Hallman is a smart man, he advised you well. The torso is a bit large, but (...) (19 years ago, 21-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: MAD-CM-01 - First humanoid mecha

(...) snip Excellent work, Danny. I would also suggest "kit bashing" the Prehistoric Creatures set. My Python, Jackrabbit, Samuraii, and Contract Killer were made almost entirely from that particular set. Keep on building! -Jon (19 years ago, 21-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: IRON MECHA

(...) Gosh, I've never even built a mecha before. Actually, that's not true - last night, I was watching "Samurai Jack" and I got real impressed by robots, and wanted to make one. So I did - it sucked. The head was too big for the body. But I'll try (...) (19 years ago, 21-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
