Re: New Mecha: The Cub —Brian Cooper
(...) Well, essentially I'd like to see a foot that allows for more extreme poses while remaining stable. The monolithic flat footed style can only go so far. The alternative is a foot that has articulation to mimic what toes do, not the useless (...) (19 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New Mecha: The Cub —Marco Tagliaferri
(...) Hello Brian, if I got you right you're talking about something like this? (2 URLs) This one is using a single rotational click hinge. It was torne apart by the weight of the mecha I'm working on. (2 URLs) So the second uses double ball joints. (...) (19 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

(...) -snip- (...) OMGoodness! That rocks! WOW. Fantastic Marco! WOW. Thank you. e (19 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New Mecha: The Cub —Brian Cooper
(...) Cool. Definitely better than a flat foot. That's exactly what I'm talking about, although for a supermassive mecha I'd need to have this toe joint be either worm gear controlled or have an adjustable strut of some kind that forms a triangle to (...)         Re: New Mecha: The Cub —Bryce McGlone
(...) I made a foot with toes that have give to allow it to stand on the balls of its feet. Though it's all gussied up with Bionicle stuff the concept still works. The tubes provide a kind of spring/tendon type support. (URL) (19 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New Mecha: The Cub —Eric Sophie
(...) -snip- (...) I remember. That set up is too cool. Did Bryce mention that the toes can apply pressure to the ground? Plus the tubes really add to the tension and channel the weight. Ubber cool and crazy looking. e (19 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New Mecha: The Cub —Brian Cooper
(...) I remember this exquisite monstrosity. It looks like he would have a definite "spring in his step". I don't know if this kind of tech could hold a toe pose for long though. It would be quite interesting to make a mecha that used tendons (...) (19 years ago, 1-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New Mecha: The Cub —Eric Sophie
(...) -snip- (...) Ahh, like more of a toe, ball of your foot combo. I agree, more articulation in the feet is the future. Infact, I always wanted to build somthing that can haunch down like a Gargoyle peering over a ledge. e (19 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)
