  New Mecha: The Tribunal

I just finished my latest Mecha, I call it Tribunal. You WILL be judged!! I warned you all with my last Mecha post that I might decide to make another tripod at some point. This project was much more ambitious than TAU, and incorporates a few new (...) (19 years ago, 26-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.space)

(...) umm.... guess it's been a while since I posted let's try this deep link thing again shall we? (URL) (19 years ago, 26-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New Mecha: The Tribunal

(...) Jon, this is rather an ambitious project, given its size, the triangular leg configuration (cool method of connecting the torso), and the wicked awesome tank treads on the feet. I like this mix of colors, but I would have liked to see them (...) (19 years ago, 29-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

I also use the Gimp for some work, but white balance is fairly easily done with Picassa as well. In fact I tend to take most photos into it and hit the "I'm feeling Lucky" button - which adjusts white balance, other colour balances and a few other (...) (...) and to think I almost abandoned this project when Mark posted his mecha tank! (...) Maybe on my next design, but this one was built out of what I had available in the tan , brown, and that wierd color I have yet to name (...) Thank you, little (...)   Re: New Mecha: The Tribunal

(...) Hello Jon, (...) I'd sign too for all of the above. One question on the treads: is it possible to turn the feet so that all the treads are heading in one direction? I could't figure that out from the pics. (...) Once again I agree to 100%. (...) (19 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Hi Jon! Pardon the late reply, I have been building (URL) something>. This thing is a monster! The treds, the imposing look! Judge me not, I'm gonna run away! This pic of the (URL) center structural component> looks so cool. I like stuff like that. (...) (19 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: New Mecha: The Tribunal

(...) Excellent, my plan is working perfectly....mmuuuahhahha. All silliness aside, Yes Marco, it is possible to rotate the feet. I guess that means I did a good job of concealing that particular joint joint. (...) snip Glad you liked it! -Jon (19 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: New Mecha: The Tribunal

(...) Not a problem, E, I know how hard it can be to pull yourself way from a project when the creative juices are flowing! It's like pulling teeth sometimes. (...) Thanks, on my later designs I'm trying to take pictures to explain how I assembled (...) (19 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: New Mecha: The Tribunal

Hi all, I feel kind of cheeky, posting to the thread without a word on the mecha itself. It has an awesome look about it - and I realy have a thing for tripods - this one really does live up to the image. Its interesting having real stats as well (...)   Re: New Mecha: The Tribunal

(...) It seemed awkward for me at first, Danny, but surprisingly I got used to it. (...) The central structure component or the leg mainframe as I have come to call it, is extremely strong. The biggest structural issue I had was with centering the (...) (19 years ago, 1-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)
