UPMX Urban Parol Mecha - Experimental

Hi guys. This is my first mecha and first post. I've been a fan of mecha since I was a kid and have enjoyed looking at everyone's creations for years. I figured I'd give it a go myself. Pics can be found here. (URL) guys were designed for the narrow (...) (20 years ago, 12-Sep-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: UPMX Urban Parol Mecha - Experimental

(...) These are pretty cool Fradel. Next, post the fighters you had at brickfest, those were cool, and I want to see em. This month's wamalug meeting escaped me, but I am going to try and make one if there is one during my winter break. Glad you're (...) (20 years ago, 12-Sep-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: UPMX Urban Parol Mecha - Experimental

Hey Fradel, For a first try at mecha this is excellent. I like the size of these mecha; they're scaled like some of the more imodesti mecha from anime such as Patlabor, Gasaraki and, VOTOMS. The accessories and weapons you included are very nice as (...) (20 years ago, 13-Sep-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: UPMX Urban Parol Mecha - Experimental

(...) Thanks Dan. I've got quite a backlog of mocs to take pics of. I'm such a slave to procrastination. I've just finished another mech and plan to post that soon too. Just let me know what meeting you plan on attending and I'll bring my stuff. (...) (20 years ago, 13-Sep-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: UPMX Urban Parol Mecha - Experimental

(...) Hi Mladen. Thanks for the kind words. I'm no stranger to your work so it means a lot. I've heard of the anime you speak of but only watched the last 40 mins of the second Patlabor movie. I'd love to try other colors but I'm kinda locked into (...) (20 years ago, 13-Sep-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: UPMX Urban Parol Mecha - Experimental

(...) -Snip- Ohhh! Ahhhh! werd. (...) Cool for like jump jets and metal wing configs, awesome. (...) These guys are like the duo of rough and tumble close quarter brawlers. "force blade" wow. The feet are great. I see lots of cool techinques to make (...) (20 years ago, 13-Sep-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: UPMX Urban Parol Mecha - Experimental

(...) Hi Fradel, welcome. (...) Me too. I have been a huge fan of the concept for a loooong time. (...) You have captured that urban look very well. They remind me of GASARAKI TAs (...) Those are great. I would have thought that those parts would be (...) (20 years ago, 13-Sep-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: UPMX Urban Parol Mecha - Experimental

Thanks E. I've got some other ideas I want to put down. Trying to figure out things is both fun and frustrating. I'm gonna have to stock up on parts now as I've caught the mecha fever. Fradel (20 years ago, 14-Sep-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: UPMX Urban Parol Mecha - Experimental

(...) Hey, I like the feet. I've never tried to do flexing toes. That's an interesting solution. (20 years ago, 14-Sep-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: UPMX Urban Parol Mecha - Experimental

Hi David. Can I call ya Dave? Thanks for the comments. I may just pick up a Gasaraki DVD cause I'm hearing it mentioned a lot now. Your hard suits rock, btw. I tried something like a hard suit some time back but that anime look evades me...so far. (...) (20 years ago, 14-Sep-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: UPMX Urban Parol Mecha - Experimental

(...) Hi Kyle. Yeah, the feet seem to be a fav from what I notice. I got the idea of that heavy feet/boot look from the battloids in Southern Cross and Veritech Alpha battloids from Mospeada. They certainly help for balance when I'm posing them. (...) (20 years ago, 14-Sep-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: UPMX Urban Parol Mecha - Experimental

(...) Hey...Fradel popped his own cherry and finally posted. Cool Mecha...I'm not really hip to the standards of articulation and building techinique of the genre, but I like what I see. Nice work. With some tips from the masters in this field (...) (20 years ago, 16-Sep-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)
