What is your name? = Soren Roberts, aka “bricklovinfreakboy”.

How old are you? = 18, but grouchy and cynical enough to be 50 sometimes :).

What does real life mean for you? (In the sense of what you do outside of the hobby: work, other hobbies, etc.) = Well, in what they tell me is my real life, I’m a student, aiming for a design job of some kind. I also have a truly unhealthy fondness for anime and manga that sucks up whatever cash escapes the wallet-grinder of my Lego hobby.

Favorite Personal Mecha MOC? = Oh geez, this is tough. I really like the Snow Goose, so I guess I’ll go with that. I’m not sure though.

Favorite Other Mecha MOC? (Pick two or three if you want.) = Stuart Immonen’s Neko2 gives me perverse, unnatural feelings for ABS plastic. The guy’s a monster.

Also Bryce McGlone’s Cankerworm. Wow.

Favorite Other Non-Mecha MOC? = Joel Kuester’s VES-X Spacecraft.

What would you like to build if only you had the parts/time? = An entire 100+ page comic in Lego form, solely to show off my mecha.

What inspires you? = I could list everything, but then you’d never see the bottom of this post :).

I love to be obscure, so Five Star Stories. That series is pure style at its finest.

Appleseed, Ghost in the Shell, Gunnm, Bubblegum Crisis... The list goes on. I’m not averse to American influences but I don’t seek them out much. Hobby Japan when I can afford it.

Have fun!

Soren

What is your name? -Brayton Orchard

How old are you? -16

What does real life mean for you? -High school, soccer, etc.

Favorite personal mecha MOC? -My favorite is always my newest MOC. Then I look back a couple months later and say, “Wow, what was I thinking?”.

Favorite other mecha MOC? -There was a mecha by Glagla posted a couple months ago on brickshelf. It was white and grey and utilized a lot of curved pieces. It was one of the most beautiful mecha I’ve ever seen, but sadly it disappeared after a day or two and I haven’t seen it since.

Favorite other non-mecha MOC? -John Palmer’s Q-Wing and M-Wing.

What would you like to build if you only had the parts/time? -The Gerbera Tetra. Simply the coolest mech ever. (I may take a stab at it anyways.)

What inspires you? -I like to take the really good aspects of designs I see and put them all together.

-Brayton
