Jason! First the Wolverine and now this. Wow, Im so impressed!
|
aw, shucks! (blushing)
|
Well, what can I say about this lovely mecha. I mean, its probably one of,
if not T H E best LEGO representations of an EVA.
|
thanks for the compliment! first of all, ive got to give propers to everyone
who have made an evangelion out of lego. it is one of the single hardest forms
to emulate. my goal was to create the best lego adaptation of the mecha to
date. honestly, i hope someone else does a better one than mine (gla-gla, are
you out there?).
Youve really caught the
|
feel of the mecha just right, even if the proportions arent 100% accurate
(Im not doubting that they are, but I do realize that compromises must be
made).
|
too true. the evangelion are definately organic and very humanoid which makes
it all the more difficult to emulate given angled bricks.
I love the articulation too, and you sure showed it off in those
i actually have been slowly working on this project since the summer. the most
obstacles ive had to overcome dealt with articulation. in fact, im still not
completely satisfied with it (it takes at least 10 minutes just to get one pose)
The weapons are great as well; Ive always had a soft spot for
|
the blockiness of the pallet rifle, and the pistol surprisingly works for
me... one of the few times Ill ever say that (why? cause pistols are
exclusively a small-arms, human-scale thing, that you just cant justify it
in a mecha context).
|
i used to hate the pallet rifle form due to its blockiness, but that makes it
easy to make with lego. plus, it actually has grown on me. i also agree with
you regarding the pistol. i never thought they were actually that useful for
giant mecha until i saw them being used by both evangelion and patlabor,
|
If theres one thing Id change about this mecha, it would be to give it a
bigger entry plug. It just looks way too small. However, I could be wrong;
Im not really a hardcore Evangelion fan. :-)
|
i always thought it was to scale, but now that you thought of it, youre right.
again, thanks!
