Yes waiter I'll have the big ol' mecha a la Metal Gear with a side of lots of missles. <waiter> coming right up sir! and then BAM this mecha comes trotting on out. Very nice. I have a couple questions: Is that Mark in the first photo? If so how old (...) (23 years ago, 8-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Questions... (Warning: NEWBIE Alert.)

(...) Hi Mark! Mecha are an interesting phenomenon in that few Lego creations have more points of articulation. I'd suggest looking over Colin R. (...) Hi, Mark! Were I to give advice to someone just starting out (and I guess I am), I would tell them to start out in the 8-12 inch tall range. Make sure you have a good way to do the joints (most people these days use SW click hinges and technic (...) (23 years ago, 8-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) Like anything LEGO, it's really up to you. What scale are you going for? Minifig, microfig, nanofig, something else? My favorites, the origami mechs, are all about finding unique uses for standard parts...minifig hips and legs as fingers, for (...) (23 years ago, 8-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Questions... (Warning: NEWBIE Alert.)

Hi, I'm Mark and I have been trying to build a mecha. Somehow my try doesn't look right. So I put my question to you Mecha-Experts. Are there any specific aspects that a Mecha should have? I mean, the 6949 Robo-Guardian and the four Roboforce models (...) (23 years ago, 8-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Timid Newbie Strikes!!

(...) Check out the dates on the pictures. :> Seriously, I'm going to keep the Nova together, sort of. I've been refining it, swapping out bits and pieces and revising the design ever since it was first built. Don't see why that can't continue until (...) Welcome Chris! Nice, nice mecha, very nice mecha. I saw these earlier today. Any chance of snapping a pic of the hip joint(s)? The red one looks way cool IMO and the transforming one is sweet too. I'll admit it, I'm suitably impressed. Mecha in that design are tough enough to get standing properly, but if it has true articulation on a mecha that size then...wow! From the pics, it appears to be roughly four times the size of my Warthog (...) (23 years ago, 7-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
