  Re: Most Inspiring Anime/Manga Poll

(...) There weren't any. There were a lot of spaceships, but no "giant robots" or other mecha. (...) Battletech "borrowed" a number of mecha from a number of sources, not just Macross (I don't remember seeing any Southern Cross/Mospaeda mecha in (...)   Re: Most Inspiring Anime/Manga Poll

<ramble> The first anime based show I remember watching was Star Blazers/Battleship Yamato (Though I don't remember mecha, per se.) Later I discovered Robotech and devoured every episode. Then I found Battletech, which at the time I thought was just (...) (25 years ago, 10-Feb-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Most Inspiring Anime/Manga Poll

(...) Mecha wise my first big attraction was Robotech, but I had seen (and liked Starblazers years before). I also watched much Battle of the Planets and Voltron (liked the lion series better). (...) Well my understanding from the past is: Robotech (...) (25 years ago, 10-Feb-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Most Inspiring Anime/Manga Poll

(...) When I was a kid I'd build spaceships that would connect like Battle of the Planets/G-Force/I forget the other name of it. I saw an old episode of it on Cartoon Network last week where one of the member's sub/boat landed on shore and out (...) (25 years ago, 10-Feb-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Most Inspiring Anime/Manga Poll

(...) Robotech, man! :-, Then Go-Bots and Transformers (blech now), and Battletech later, though since early Battletech stole mucho from Robotech (which in turn stole mucho from Macross and Mospeda) I feel I can't really count that. I also got a (...) (25 years ago, 10-Feb-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Most Inspiring Anime/Manga Poll

I was just wondering what anime/manga everyone here is most inspired by when making their own creations. Personally, Gundam first started me in the idea of making Lego Mecha, but Evengelion is also shifting my interests into making more sleek/agile (...)   Re: New Pics: the Mad Mage Cornelius

Great work Jeff! Excellent model. And the whole idea of this mad Zjerman professor is just brilliantly insane! Hilarious! By the way, are you into Warhammer 40K perhaps? Your robot reminds me a lot of the Ork Dreadnaughts (or any other Orky built (...) (25 years ago, 8-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.mecha)

In lugnet.space, Ken Takeuchi writes: [...] (...) Ken -- I just bought software called "Bricks" from Knowledge Adventure. (It used to be called "Gryphon Bricks").   Re: Extraordinary style + details in a spaceship

Boy, a scanner like that would sure be something! That would save *everyone* a ton of time. 8) As for your Mac. At this point there really isn't any software for that platform. Hmm...seems like a large part of the LUGNET audience is being neglected. (...) (25 years ago, 8-Feb-00, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Extraordinary style + details in a spaceship

(...) To record my models as a CAD data takes time... Especially when the model is as large as the spaceship model. If I had a time to digitize the previous models, I rather like to use it to create more new models. I wish for a super x-ray scanner (...)
