Hello all! So I've been working on quite a bit since the LUGOLA meeting. I stumbled upon something that might be of interest to you mech builders out there. So, you know those 1x4 brick hinges - the kind that have been around forever? They have the (...) (23 years ago, 12-May-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Being a nerd I have always fallen back on the acronyms. I have always used Mechanically Enhanced Combat Heavy Armor for MECHA. Although I have never seen this in any other source (anime etc..) it seems to work for me. Mike out (...) (23 years ago, 12-May-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) It is spelled with a "ch" because it is derived from a non-japanese word (hence it being written in katakana). It is probably derived from mechanical, but I don't know that for sure. :) Jeff (23 years ago, 12-May-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Wow! Great work, it is so realistic. I truly love the fact that this mech has it own personality. A person can just imagine several Bu-806 sneaking on another army (not mobile suits necessary) and the pilots just say BOOOOO! Open fire, demolish (...) (...) Well done! I'm honored that you were inspired by mine. :^) I like the use of the castle bits on the shoulders, and I think your rifle is better than the one I made for Hardygun. Hey guys, I've update my site with my new mecha, the Bu-806 Fieldsmate. It's a medium sized multi role mecha. I was really inspired by Marks newest mecha, to make a new one my self so I did... To be really correct...Mecha is the the japanese equivalent or rough translation..mecha would be written in katakana i belive and would be meka in romanji-this is just what i get from takeing japanse class and reading to wierd things... -John (...) (23 years ago, 11-May-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) I'm not sure about HERC, as it's an acronym used in that universe. It is derived from Herculean but it has its own provenance as well. Actually, I believe that the term Mech is derived from Mecha. Mecha I believe is a Japanese word for machine. If this is the case, there can never be a copyrighting of the word.
